Life as a freelancer, well to understand a freelance creative you have to go back to the beginning, where it all begin.
For me it started when I was 11 years old, someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
A simple question, which required a lot of thought, but I only had one answer in mind .... to be a Creative!

I was never a academic child, I knew my limits, the reason to this would become clearer later in life, but at this point being a
Artist

Designer

Creative

was who I was, it came easily to me, when words were not!

I love to create images, whether is be moving or still

there is some sort of peace within the chaos of a creative thought process, pre - production, photography events and I strive in it.

And I can't imagine myself doing anything else

It is my passion ...
My hobby ...
My love of expression ...
The fire in my gut ...
It's not work ...
This is how I get my kicks ...
Its just fun ... AND I get paid for it!

How many of us can have this much fun while at work!!

Being a Millennial ...
I ... like many of my generation struggled to figure out where we stand in the grand theme of
life, work and beyond.
Many people I knew fell out of Uni after gaining a degree not knowing what to do and where to go next, feeling like we where dropped as soon as we submitted our work ...

Having felt let down by the system ...
I along with a few friends started a creative collective and we kinda did it ..

For a little while ...

But like most great ideas it ran its course and we we're left wanting ....

Having the collective with my friends was like a safety net,
a way of not giving up and after it fell away from us, it could have broken us as friends and creative but it didn't
it made us search in different places

I like many of my friends struggled with find work ...

We all had great projects we worked on over the years but projects come and they go ..

and many of those friends went on to have amazing, wonderful, rewarding careers which they love and worked hard to get

But none of them were in the creative industry!

Saying this ..

None of them will change it for the world, they love what they do ..

They have found the thing they were looking for .. and I envy them that ...

In some sense I'm still looking,
still searching ...

still exploring ...

still learning ...

still find my feet ..

still love the fright ... the struggle

Besides all this ...

You can never stop being a creative person ..

Its in our blood ..

Its just me ...
Nuff said ...

Much Love
